Kitchen Team

A Successful Kitchen Team Member

At Chick-fil-A, the Team Member role is more than just a job, it's an opportunity. In addition to working directly for an independent Operator, team members gain life experience that goes far beyond just serving a great product in a friendly environment. As a BOH Team Member, you will prepare and assemble food to the highest quality and safety standards ensuring that every guest has a crave-able product. You will be expected to work quickly and accurately- maintaining a positive attitude while fulfilling orders, assembling sandwiches and nuggets, operating fryers, breading chicken, and cleaning to maintain our high food safety and sanitation standards. You must be a team player, as you must cooperate with the team as you fulfill a variety of roles.

Chick-fil-A’s founder S. Truett Cathy believed a “great company is a caring company” and his vision of caring for others continues to inspire us today. We strive to put people first in all we do by cultivating a positive work environment where people feel known and cared for. We seek to have a positive impact in our communities by strengthening the cities and neighborhoods we serve. We strive to create a quality, meaningful Customer experience by serving great food people can feel good about. And, we work to sustain a happy, healthy future by acting as good stewards of the planet we share. That’s why Chick-fil-A’s approach to Corporate Social Responsibility focuses on four pillars: Caring for people, caring for our communities, caring for others through our food, and caring for our planet.

Everyone's job at Chick-fil-A is to serve. No matter our title or job description, our reason for coming to work is to generously share our time and talents. Whether it's treating customers like friends, or serving our communities like neighbors, we believe kindness is a higher calling.

In our kitchens, we focus on fresh and simple ingredients. And we always have. Since the beginning, we've served chicken that is whole breast meat, with no added fillers or hormones, and we bread it by hand in our restaurants. Produce is delivered fresh to our kitchens several times a week. Salads are chopped and prepared fresh throughout the day. It may not be the easy way, but it's the only way we know.

Always refer to your Culture Card to be reminded of our standard.

About the BOH Goals Board: these scores are obtained from our guests' surveys, financial analysis, or from a third-party auditor.

Fast and Taste scores are given to us by guest feedback when filling out surveys about their experience at our restaurant. This gives us an understanding of how we met, exceeded, or fell short of their expectations when visiting our location. It is our goal to exceed their expectations in all that we do! The higher the score the better.

Food Cost scores are obtained by Chick-fil-A corporate pulling our sales data and mixing it with our inventory counting data to provide us with actionable information about how well we did at managing our food resources in various inventory product categories. A strong food cost gap score is below 1% positive gap

AHA stands for automated holding assistant this score is created by our actual usage of our holing timers. The top 20% of Chick-fil-a's score 92% or higher.

The SAFE score is given to us by our performance on our third-party quarterly audit. This score is based on our ability to meet the Chick-fil-A standards for food safety. This score is on a 1-10 scale, 1 being extremely good, and 10 being bad.

We will strive for perfection, but settle for excellence!
